Bio

Jim Frankian

A Burbank native, Jim was blessed to be raised by Christian parents—he attended a local church on a weekly basis with his mother and five siblings.

Jim asked Jesus to be the Lord of his life at six years old in response to an “altar call” he heard on a radio sermon during a family trip. Since then, he has continued to deepen his understanding and love for Jesus, both through the devotional reading of the Psalms (Songs of Jesus by Timothy Keller is one of his favorite books), and sacrificial service, which was modeled to him by his mother. He also treasures spending time with small groups of believers, sharpening and encouraging one another’s faith.

A Cal State LA graduate, Jim married his best friend and high school sweetheart, Suzy. He owns a small engineering company that specializes in geotechnical engineering, engineering geology, and environmental engineering.

He first became aware of Reality LA through the Gospel Coalition website a few months before he and Suzy visited the church with their youngest daughter, who was in town from Seattle and meeting a friend at Reality LA. He’s since served in numerous capacities within Reality LA, including leading multicultural groups, as well as hosting a variety of community events at his home. Jim was ordained as an elder at Reality LA in 2019.

Jim’s hobbies include cheering on LA’s football and basketball teams (Go Lakers!), researching his family’s genealogy, and spending quality time with his four adult children and numerous grandchildren.
