Serve LA
I was thirsty, and you gave me drink.
I was a stranger, and you welcomed me.
Many people come to LA to take. We’re called to give. Serve LA is a place where the holistic mission of God’s people is lived out daily.
Serve LA is a faith-based non-profit started by Reality LA to steward the ministry we received and help fulfill the vision of seeking the renewal of Los Angeles. The two organizations have an ongoing partnership that is rooted in our shared history and aims for a mutual relationship as we serve the city together.
Serve LA exists to seek the renewal of our city by guiding the marginalized from suffering to flourishing, equipping others to do the same in their own neighborhoods.
The goal is to be more than a meal, more than a shower, more than any service – but a ministry where we witness countless examples of how the compassion of Jesus changes everything.
The ministry of Serve LA has a significant impact in the life of our city.
Serve LA is responsible for serving over 1,000 meals a week at the Hope Center (roughly 63,000 each year), as well as offering shower access to over 200 people a month, facilitating the distribution of over 1,700 boxes of food each week to surrounding communities and organizations through our citywide distribution program, and overseeing the monthly Day of Hope, which provides haircuts, clothing, hygiene supplies, medical aid, and more. All of this is done with a gospel-motivated emphasis on hope, compassion, and revealing (not imparting) the innate dignity and value of each image-bearer who walks through the doors.
It takes community to serve our community, and there are many ways to participate in the life and work of Serve LA.
Whether it be a financial donation, volunteer participation, gifts in-kind, corporate giving, prayer support, or simply helping spread the word about the opportunities we provide, there’s an opportunity for you to invest.
