Fire Relief
We’re rooted in and committed to seeking the welfare of Los Angeles. With the fires extinguished and the dust literally and metaphorically settled, we’ve transitioned from meeting immediate relief needs to pursuing long-term restoration and rebuilding of our city through holistic care in the context of relationships—meeting financial, tangible, emotional, and relational needs. Our focus is on three primary areas:
1. People who have lost homes and jobs
Supporting individuals and families in affected areas who have lost homes, lost jobs, or whose lives and livelihood have been directly impacted by the wildfires.
2. Churches which have lost buildings
Coming alongside LA churches which have lost or had significant damage to their church buildings by partnering with them to help restore their sacred spaces.
3. Foster care and vulnerable family support
Holistically caring for children in the foster care system who have been displaced or impacted by the wildfires, as well as focusing efforts to intercede for families who face child placement or removal challenges due to the effects of the wildfires.
Each of these areas are being led by committees of qualified leaders within our church with previous experience or specific skills that relate to the specific communities or circumstances we’re seeking to serve. Many tangible opportunities to participate and serve will be brought before our church in the coming weeks and months.
Volunteer
Along with financial contributions, there’s a multitude of ways our church can serve and meet tangible and relational needs, primarily through Welcome Home Groups. Learn more about how to engage and sign up to serve below.
Pray
As we continue to seek God in our response to the fires in Los Angeles, our first instinct must be to pray and to pray desperately. The Fire Relief committees have shared some initial ways to prompt us to cry out to God. Use these as a launching point, and be attentive to how the Holy Spirit is directing you to praise God, to lament, to grieve, and to ask of him in prayer.
