Our first response and continual posture is one of prayer. Since our mission is first and foremost God’s mission, we know that if anything meaningful is going to happen in us and through us, it must begin and be sustained through prayer.
On April 24, gather with others in your region to celebrate Easter, worship Christ, and call out to God for renewal in your part of the city.

We are all image-bearers of Christ, and because of that we know that the gospel is not only for certain people but is good news for every person. Our desire is to be a church that witnesses to Christ so that all can call upon his name and know his mercy and grace. We also seek to be a church body that, to the best of our ability, welcomes, includes, serves, and values every member of our community and city. One practical expression of this is through our ASL ministry.
ASL interpretation is available at 10AM gatherings every Sunday, which includes interpretation of the entire the gathering (music, announcements, and sermon), as well as dedicated volunteers serving on an ASL Welcome Team to meet and connect with Deaf or Hard of Hearing members of and visitors to our church before, during, and after the gathering.
Our long-term vision is to be a church that actively involves Deaf and Hard of Hearing sisters and brothers in discipleship, evangelism, fellowship, teaching, courses, and more. This will take time, mutual sacrifice, and effort from the entire body, but is something we know reflects the heart of God and will bear much fruit toward our church and city, better reflecting the kingdom of God!
ASL on Sundays
ASL interpretation is available at the our 10AM gatherings every Sunday at Helen Bernstein High School.
Serve with the ASL Ministry
We need ASL interpreters and ASL welcome and usher team members to serve! Please sign up to get involved.
It is an exciting time at Reality LA as we prepare to renovate the Hope Center and church office building.
The aim is to carry out our mission more effectively and make good use of the buildings that have served us well but have significant limitations.
Our congregational survey earlier this year revealed seven key questions that many people in the congregation are asking. So before we “rebuild for renewal,” we’re going to work on the foundation a bit to make sure that we’re all unified moving forward. In other words, we want to raise awareness before we raise money.
Check this page for weekly updates through September and October as we unpack the seven questions below, addressing one each week through family talks at our Sunday gatherings, Drop In podcast episodes, various events, and videos!
• What is the story of the Hope Center?
• What is the condition of the buildings?
• How do Reality LA and Serve LA relate?
• How does investing centrally enhance regional ministry?
• What does the staff do?
• How does a capital campaign work?
• How should we think about giving?
What is the story of the Hope Center?
When Reality LA was given the buildings at Fountain and Edgemont in 2019, their story became our story! Let’s look back and celebrate what God has done so we can be good stewards moving forward.
What is the condition of the buildings?
Our buildings are beautiful but they are old and broken down to the point that our current operations in them are not sustainable. Let’s check out how the condition of the buildings is holding us back from fulfilling our mission in really practical ways.
How do Reality LA and Serve LA relate?
Reality LA and Serve LA have an ongoing partnership that is rooted in our shared history and vision as we serve the city together. Let’s explore what it means for both organizations to mutually partner on a practical level.
How does investing centrally enhance regional ministry?
We gather for worship and we scatter for mission. Let’s explore how our city-wide church model has central and regional functions, which are not in competition of one another, but rather fit together in supporting our mission to make disciples in Los Angeles.
What does the staff do?
The purpose of church staff comes from Ephesians 4:12 “to equip the saints for the work of ministry.” We have organized our staff by our mission: making disciples who follow Jesus, love one another, and serve Los Angeles. So how does the staff equip the saints and what do they do?
How does a capital campaign work?
What is a capital campaign? What is our approach, and how will it work practically? For some of us, this may be our first time experiencing a capital campaign. For others, we may have expectations from a past experience. Let’s explore the specifics of how the campaign will work here at Reality LA!
How should we think about giving?
We often approach giving with a transactional mindset, giving in order to get. But what does it look like for us to have a transformational mindset, giving to be transformed and to participate in God’s work of transformation?
How can we renovate and utilize the buildings to best fulfill the mission God has given us?
Through September and October, we’ve addressed the seven key questions that arose from our congregational survey, but one question remains about the renovation: How can we reconfigure the space to maximize our mission of making disciples who follow Jesus, love one another, and serve Los Angeles?
Curious about following Jesus? Looking to make Reality LA your home church? Maybe you already have but want to be more involved? We’d love for you to join us!
Share a meal with others who are new at our church and meet some of our leadership. We’ll tell you our story and answer key questions about what it means to be a member of Reality LA.
RSVP
Let us know you’re coming so we can prepare the meal accordingly!
Every Tuesday Night, Reality LA Youth meets for a time of learning about Jesus, growing in our relationships with each other, and learning how to apply the word of God to our lives.
Each month has a different theme, and each Tuesday will explore the theme in different ways.
We invite you into our living room space where Elder Nathan Potter and Deacon Michael Kae chat with people from our church family who share stories of God’s movement in our church and wisdom for following Jesus.

Lives are being changed. The lonely are finding community. The hungry are being fed. Our city is being renewed. It’s happening across the globe, and it all began with one event. Join us this Easter, Sunday, April 20, as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and step into the greatest movement in history.
Baptisms
We will hold baptisms at all three Easter gatherings.
Baptism is a picture of God’s grace and a profession of our faith. Being lowered into and raised from the water is a picture of Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection (Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3-8; Colossians 2:12; 1 Peter 3:21). It is a public testimony where we proclaim with our mouths and our hearts that Jesus is Lord.
If you’ve trusted in Christ but have never been baptized, then we invite you to join us for baptism as we celebrate together and worship Christ. You can learn more and register here:
Changing rooms, towels, and even a change of clothes, if needed, will be provided.
Service Times and locations
Our Easter gatherings will be 9AM and 12PM at Helen Bernstein High School and 5PM at Hope Center. Click the links below for specific location and parking details:
We believe it’s important and beautiful to gather together in person as a family, but we of course realize that we live in a world where it’s not always possible. Joining us in spirit is no less precious to us—we will be live-streaming the 12PM gathering at sundaysonline.realityla.com so our entire family can celebrate Jesus’ resurrection together!
ASL
ASL interpretation will be available during preaching and worship at our 9AM gathering. Seating is in right side of the auditorium at the front.
Kids, Preteen, and Youth
We look forward to celebrating the resurrection with the children of our church! But there will be a few changes to our typical Sunday rhythms on Easter Sunday:
Kids Ministry will only be available for nursery through 1st gradeat the 9AM and 12PM gathering. Check in will be at the usual Kids Ministry Welcome Area and these younger kids will have a typical day of programming as any other Sunday. Kids Ministry will not be available at the 5PM gathering, but we will continue to have a Moms’ and Female Caregivers’ Room for anyone who needs it.
2nd through 4th-grade children will join their families in the main gathering. Easter is a wonderful time to integrate our older children into the rhythms of the church, as the sermon is shorter and designed to reach people from a wide variety of experiences and understandings. We will have sheets available for your older kids to grab before heading into the sermon on which they can take notes, draw, and complete a couple other fun activities like crosswords or word searches.
All Preteen and Youth students will join us in our Sunday gathering as well and we’ll resume all customary Preteen and Youth gatherings the following week.
Please feel free to reach out to our Kids or Preteen and Youth teams with any questions ahead of time. We’re looking forward to seeing your family on Easter Sunday!
Serve on Easter
As we press into this year’s vision of being on mission for Jesus, we invite you to serve sacrificially with us on Easter Sunday. Join us as we welcome guests into our church home and praise God through our service for his giving us new life through the birth, ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus.
Good Friday
This year’s Good Friday gathering will take place in the Hope Center chapel on April 18 at 7:30PM.
We play co-ed pick-up games for teens and adults of all skill levels on a monthly rotation as a fun way to build community at our church!

Donors who gave to Reality Church of Los Angeles in 2024 can now access their giving statements through Pushpay. All donors who have an email address on file should receive an email by January 31, 2025. If you do not receive an email, you can access giving statements online following the instructions below.
Thank you for your generosity
Thank you for giving to the Lord’s work in and through Reality LA in 2024!
Last year we focused on living all of life, all for Jesus. By God’s grace, we baptized 45 people, served 72,203 meals to the marginalized in Hollywood, saw 219 new people connected to community groups, and impacted countless people with the good news of Jesus.
All of this happened by way of your generous giving, which is a reflection of your commitment to Christ and the church. Thank you! God is truly at work, and it’s a privilege that we get to take part in it.
Here are a few FAQ regarding PushPay giving statements:
Can I access my giving statements online?
You can access all giving statements associated with your account by clicking the button below and logging in. A list of all statements will be available through the Giving Statements tab on the left-hand side of the screen.
Note: If you have not yet activated your account, please check one of your emailed donation receipts for how to do so.
What if I usually receive a statement in the mail?
Contribution statements delivered electronically from Pushpay are IRS compliant. For this reason, you do not need to receive both an emailed and mailed statement. This will benefit you as it is a much faster and easier way to deliver statements and will eliminate the need to print or scan anything.
My statement is not accurate
If you have received an inaccurate statement or have a question about a listed contribution, please email give@realityla.com.
Reality LA is committed to the health of all marriages in our church. That commitment includes a desire to equip engaged couples in preparation for the covenant they intend to make, as well as give seriously-dating couples a picture of marriage and encourage couples who are already married (the Marriage Course is not a substitute for marriage counseling, but it can serve as a refresher on the foundations of a healthy marriage).
Our Marriage Course is a five-week interactive course (February 23 – March 23) taught by the leaders of our church for engaged, seriously dating, or married couples in need of a refresh. The classes discuss vital topics with life-stage-specific applications and practice essential tools that will help build a healthy marriage that lasts a lifetime. In addition to the classes, engaged couples will also receive two one-on-one sessions with an elder.
Thanksgiving is just around the corner! Serve LA is gearing up to prepare a special dinner to serve on Thanksgiving Day and we can use your help to make this year extra special. There are a couple different ways you can partner with us:
Donate Your Time
Wednesday, November 22, 4-8PM, we will be making sack lunches and meal-prepping for Thanksgiving Dinner and on Thursday, November 23 (Thanksgiving Day), 10:30AM-8PM, we will be prepping, cooking, serving the meal, then doing some cleanup. If you’re able, please come one of these days to help for a bit!
Email Valerie, our Volunteer Coordinator, at valerie.v@weservela.org.
Donate Turkeys, Blankets, or Sleeping Bags
If you’re unable to serve in-person but still want to help, please consider adding an extra turkey (or several!) to your Thanksgiving shopping.
We are also in need of brand-new blankets and sleeping bags. As the seasons change and nights are colder, our guests experiencing homelessness need to stay warm! We want to ensure that they can come to us, and we can provide warm bedding so they can make it through the cool winter nights.
Drop off your donations at the Hope Center (4903 Fountain Ave) between 9AM and 6PM, Monday, November 13, through Wednesday, November 22, or at either of our Sunday gatherings on November 19.
