Essentials

Gather on Sundays

Sunday gatherings are sacred, communal, embodied, participatory, consistent, formational, missional….and essential! Pastor Jeremy Treat launches our 4-week “Essentials” series with a sermon from Hebrews 10:19-25.

Here are some questions to help you reflect on this essential:

• In what ways can regular, embodied gathering with the church form you that private spiritual practices alone cannot?

• In what ways do you experience Sunday worship as a kind of “re-centering,” especially after a week of being scattered into work, relationships, and responsibilities?

• Hebrews says we gather in order to stir one another up to love and good works. Who has been shaped by your presence when you gather with others, and who might be missing your encouragement when you’re not there?

• What usually gets in the way of weekly gathering for you, and what do those obstacles reveal about the things your life is currently organized around?

• If weekly gathering were not just something you fit into your life, but something that helped anchor your life, what might need to change in how you approach your Sundays?
