Vocational Groups
Vocational groups bring together believers in similar fields to build relationships and explore what it looks like to follow Jesus in our respective workplaces.
This year, all vocational groups will gather together to hear people across a range of professions share about the intersection of faith and work. We’re hosting three vocational gatherings in 2026:
• WED, APR 1
• WED, JUL 8
• NOV TBD
Light refreshments and snacks will be available. The July 8 meetup will open with two short teachings. Tyler Larsen, MD, will share on emulsifying our vocational call with the rest of our lives, and Milla Nieminen, our executive director and former global business executive, will talk about finding purpose in your everyday work. Each short talk will offer questions and reflections for you to discuss afterward with those in related work “domains”:
ARTISTIC WORK
Partnering with God to fashion the raw materials of the physical world into something more. Examples include musicians, painters, architects, and interior designers.
COMPASSIONATE WORK
Partnering with God to comfort, heal, guide and shepherd the hurting. Examples include parents, doctors, nurses, paramedics, psychologists, and social workers.
JUSTICE WORK
Partnering with God to maintain or restore order and beauty. Examples include lawyers, activists, governmental roles, and law enforcement.
PROVIDENTIAL WORK
Partnering with God to provide for people and sustain creation. Examples include mechanics, plumbers, firefighters, and entrepreneurs.
REVELATORY WORK
Partnering with God to enlighten the world with truth. Examples include educators, scientists, consultants, and journalists.
