Vocational Groups
We’re hosting five weeks of vocational groups on Wednesdays beginning October 16.
What is a vocational group, you ask? Great question! Vocational groups are a space for church members to connect with others in their same or related fields of work or study for mutual discipleship and specific support pertaining to their callings. Because following Jesus involves every aspect of our lives, learning what it looks like to follow Jesus in our daily work is vital—work (paid or unpaid) is often the biggest time commitment any of us have each week.
We’ll share a meal (dinner provided), break off into smaller groups with others in our field to share challenges and victories specific to our callings, and support one another through prayer. We’ll also discuss the future of vocational groups at Reality LA. Each Wednesday will be dedicated to a specific work domain:
October 16 – ARTISTIC WORK
Artistic work joins God’s activity fashioning the physical and human world. Examples include such roles as musician, poet, painter, architect, or interior designer.

October 23 – COMPASSIONATE WORK
Compassionate work joins God’s activity comforting, healing, guiding, and shepherding. Examples include such roles as parent, doctor, nurse, paramedic, psychologist, or social worker.

October 30 – JUSTICE WORK
Justice work joins God’s activity maintaining justice. Examples include such roles as judge, lawyer, activist, local government, or law enforcement.

November 6 – PROVIDENTIAL WORK
Providential work joins God’s activity providing for and sustaining humans and creation. Examples include such roles as mechanic, plumber, firefighter, business owner, entrepreneur, or tech sector.

November 13 – REVELATORY WORK
Revelatory work joins God’s activity enlightening the world with truth. Examples include such roles as educator, scientist, consultant, student, or journalist.
