Foster Love Supply Drive

JUNE 9 Helen Bernstein High School

On April 28, we dove into the Adopted rhythm of our annual Lifecycle of Renewal with Adopted Sunday, focusing on God’s adoptive heart for us, our city, and how we can best participate in such work! One of our partners who joined us was Foster Love LA, an emergency resource closet serving foster children and the families who love them by assembling and delivering care packages to foster families in LA County based on each child’s age and gender.

Reality LA has come alongside Foster Love the last few years to host a supply drive collecting necessary items for the care packages — things like baby bottles, pacifiers, children’s’ clothes, and more. Collection bins will be available at all our gatherings, both at Helen Bernstein and the Hope Center.

We will be collecting the following items. All items must be new or like new (no stains, no holes, etc.):

  • Diapers (sizes newborn to 5)
  • Baby wipes
  • Children’s underwear (sizes 2T to 6)
  • Avent or Dr. Brown’s baby bottles
  • Nuk or Avent pacifiers
  • Children’s clothing (sizes newborn to 5T)
  • Children’s shoes (sizes 5 to 13)

We are encouraged in Philippians to not only look out for own interests, but for the interests of others and this drive is the perfect opportunity for all of us to engage the foster care crisis in our city! Whatever your age, whether you’re in college or not, single or married, able to foster/adopt or not, here’s the chance to tangibly love on foster children and the families committed to caring for them.
