Covenant House Christmas

Past

Covenant House, located just around the corner from where we gather on Sundays, is a non-profit agency whose mission is to reach out to youth experiencing homelessness and offer them dignity, hope, and opportunities to create new life stories. At Covenant House, young people find shelter from the streets and are provided with basic necessities — a hot meal, a warm bed, a shower, and security — and a full continuum of services such as medical care, substance abuse counseling, behavioral health treatment, educational services, employment training, and long-term transitional living.

We want to continue our partnership by supporting Covenant House once again for Christmas — Reality LA has committed to ensuring that 100 Covenant House youth receive Christmas presents this year. This is a great opportunity to serve our city!

On Sundays November 11 and 18, you can sign up in the courtyard to participate. You’ll receive a card with a sample resident bio and a present to bring. There will be a tent in courtyard November 25 and December 2 and 9 for you to drop off your gifts. Please make sure all presents are unwrapped.

In total, we will need:

  • 100 pairs of Christmas PJs (15 M, 40 L, 40 XL, and 15 XXL)
  • 100 pairs of quality headphones ($30-$50 range, no earbuds)
  • 100 personalized gifts (gender specific – quality items such as jerseys, unused makeup, etc.)

If you’re not in a place to purchase anything right now, don’t worry! There are many other great ways to get involved, whether by delivering the presents, taking a tour and praying for Covenant House, or decorating the CHC campus for Christmas. If you are interested in helping in any of these ways, use the button below to sign up!
