Tell us a little bit about who you are!
My name is Tracy Speers, President and Director of After Hours Ministry. I have a Vanguard University Certificate in Anti Human Trafficking with the Global Center for Women and Justice and I’m passionate about helping survivors recover from sexual exploitation to break free from the bondage of slavery

How do you pursue God’s renewal of our city?
We align with God’s heart for restoration, freedom, and justice. God calls us to care for the vulnerable and those trapped in oppression and to bring healing to broken lives. In Luke 4:18, Jesus says, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free.” Our ministry embodies this message by helping individuals who have been oppressed by sexual exploitation to recover and experience freedom in every sense of the word.

We also speak to the renewal of our city and world by challenging the systems that perpetuate human trafficking, advocating for justice, and working for the restoration of those who have suffered. By equipping survivors with the tools they need to rebuild their lives and offering hope and support, we’re actively participating in God’s redemptive work in a broken world.

We have a new outreach van, called our Mobile Drop-in Center, which we drive out to the women being sold on the streets to offer them a safe place to come in for prayer, rest, use the bathroom, obtain resources to get out of their situation, and receive free HIV/STD testing with instant results.

How can we support you and engage with your mission?
We love partnering with Reality LA to empower the church to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Thank you for sharing about our ministry and bringing volunteers to serve with us at After Hours. I would love to see more volunteers from Reality step into hands-on service and outreach initiatives. For example, we help survivors with birthday gifts for their children, we throw baby showers for women who’ve decided to keep their baby, and we have a small boutique for women to come get free clothes, make-up, and supplies. We aim to create a culture of compassion and selflessness, where volunteers are not only encouraged but equipped to engage with their local community in meaningful ways.

How do you hope this partnership will shape our church?
My hope is that our partnership continues to foster a spirit of service and community within Reality, where every person feels empowered to live out the mission of Jesus. To shape the heart of your church, I envision deeper connection between our ministries, creating spaces for members to grow spiritually while also serving others. Through regular collaboration, training, and shared vision, we can create an environment where service is a natural outflow of our faith. I believe that by working together, we can truly make a lasting impact in our community and exemplify Christ’s love in action.

How can we pray for you?
Please pray for our Mobile Drop-in Center. Pray for our volunteers’ safety and well-being and to prevent burnout Pray that the women coming in to get help will receive our invitation with an open heart, finding healing, hope, and community in the support we offer.

How can we contact you?
You can connect and engage with AHM by emailing info@afterhoursministry.org.
