Tyler was born in the San Francisco Bay Area before making his way south to attend USC (Fight On!). Growing up, he played just about every youth sport he could find, including basketball, football, baseball, track, and swimming. His sports allegiances still belong firmly in the Bay, and he continues to let the 49ers test his faith every January (and occasionally break his heart in February).

Raised in a Christian home, Tyler always knew who Jesus was, but it wasn’t until college that he deeply connected with faithful mentors and lifelong friends who showed him how Jesus transforms every area of life. Through his Christian club at USC (Christian Challenge), Tyler led a freshman bible study and the club’s video team, creating the annual musical for the Hume Lake spring break trip. He’s now parodied La La Land, Wicked, and Hamilton, because if there’s one thing those stories needed, it was a college ministry adaptation.

During Tyler’s first month in college, some friends invited him to Reality LA, where he was baptized on Easter 2022. While he was drawn in by the biblical preaching and Christ-centered worship, what convinced him to make Reality LA his home was the church’s heart to serve Los Angeles. Seeing Reality LA serve the city through ministries like Serve LA and Royal Family KIDS Camp (RFKC) gave him a beautiful image of the gospel in action. Before long, Tyler began serving through RFKC and Reality LA Kids, where he discovered the joy of helping little ones experience the love of Jesus.

Work-wise, Tyler’s never met a spreadsheet he didn’t want to improve. He enjoys bringing order to complex systems and believes good organization is a practical way to love and serve others. When he’s not working or serving at Reality LA, you’ll probably find him watching a movie at the TCL Chinese Theatre, cheering on the Trojans at the LA Coliseum, or trying to convince someone that Star Wars should always be watched in release order.
