Majena was born in East LA and still lives in the historic El Sereno section of the city. Majena was rooted in her faith through growing up in a Christian family, going to Sunday school and Awana, and having a Christian education until her high school graduation.  

Growing up, she thought her testimony was boring, since she didn’t have a dramatic “repentance and come-to-Jesus” story like guest speakers at church. But, as God continued to make his presence known and she grew in faith and understanding, Majena came to see herself as part of an amazing legacy. Keeping her faith over a lifetime has been as amazingly miraculous way to discover the fullness of a personal relationship with Jesus!

Taking to heart the prophet Isaiah’s words “Here am I, send me,” she has taught Sunday school, served in women’s ministry, and has been on the prayer team in the various churches she’s attended. Spending time with God in the study of his word has been a formative practice which steadied her through the most difficult season of her life. The goal of her life is to share the wonder of her personal relationship with the Creator of the Universe with her four daughters. She is overwhelmed with joy to see them growing in love for Jesus and continue in a beautiful legacy of faith.

Majena has a passion for helping others make meaningful connections to God and his people. Before joining staff, she had already met and been encouraged by many women from Reality LA by attending Bible Study Fellowship. Any given Friday you can catch Majena practicing at the roller rink, a skill she took up during the pandemic. She’s almost got the hang of backwards skating!
