Volunteer for Royal Family KIDS Camp

Royal Family KIDS Camp (RFKC) is a week-long overnight camp for children aged 6-12 who are or have been part of the foster care system. This year’s camp will take place Sunday, June 14, to Friday, June 19.

RFKC is a beautiful opportunity to witness for Christ to many of the most courageous and vulnerable children in our city. RFKC and its companion program, RFK Mentorship, require a team of faithful, dedicated, selfless, and caring adults ready to serve in a multitude of ways.

We need camp counselors, social workers, support staff, musicians, actors, nurses, and more. You don’t need specific skills or previous experience, you just need the Holy Spirit. Being part of RFKC takes a high level of commitment.

Those interested will need to fill out the application, interview with camp leaders, fundraise, go through mandatory training sessions, and be willing to commit to being at camp the full six-day duration. Please don’t let the high level of commitment scare you off—you will receive tons of support, training, and encouragement from leaders and other volunteers along the way!

Interest Meeting

Want to learn more before committing? We’re hosting an interest meeting Sunday, March 8, at 12PM in the HBHS Library. No RSVP needed!

Apply

Applications for new volunteers closed on March 15. Please reach out to rfkc@realityla.com if you would like to connect with us.

ASL Interpretation on Sundays

We are all image-bearers of Christ, and because of that we know that the gospel is not only for certain people but is good news for every person. Our desire is to be a church that witnesses to Christ so that all can call upon his name and know his mercy and grace. We also seek to be a church body that, to the best of our ability, welcomes, includes, serves, and values every member of our community and city. One practical expression of this is through our ASL ministry.

ASL interpretation is available at 10AM gatherings every Sunday, which includes interpretation of the entire the gathering (music, announcements, and sermon), as well as dedicated volunteers serving on an ASL Welcome Team to meet and connect with Deaf or Hard of Hearing members of and visitors to our church before, during, and after the gathering.

Our long-term vision is to be a church that actively involves Deaf and Hard of Hearing sisters and brothers in discipleship, evangelism, fellowship, teaching, courses, and more. This will take time, mutual sacrifice, and effort from the entire body, but is something we know reflects the heart of God and will bear much fruit toward our church and city, better reflecting the kingdom of God!

ASL on Sundays

ASL interpretation is available at the our 10AM gatherings every Sunday at Helen Bernstein High School.

Youth Winter Retreat 2025

Planting seeds is fun.

Watering them is chill.

What’s better is witnessing the growth that bears fruit and yields crops.

By connecting with Jesus consistently over time, we see lasting change in our spiritual journey.

Reality LA Youth’s annual winter trip kicks off Friday night, January 17. This year, we’ll embark on an adventure to El Cajon, CA, to worship, encounter God’s word, eat, swim, play games, and grow in our faith as we retreat into God’s presence in nature.

Our theme this winter will be “Culture Maker,” kicking off our 2025 focus: “New Mission.” We pray students will come away with practical steps toward making culture in their hearts, lives, homes, and city.

Here are several ways any of you can contribute:

Pray

Pray that…

• Students will experience Jesus in powerful ways.
• Students see the reality of Jesus clearly in their lives.
• Students are inspired to maintain spiritual disciplines.

Eat

Consume calories and send kids to camp! On December 8, the youth will take over the Sunday courtyard and sell hotcakes and bacon. The suggested donation is $5 a plate, but please feel free to give whatever you can.

Give

Most students can’t afford the full cost of the retreat. Your help can contribute to the discipleship of the next generation. Any and every amount makes a difference.

Register

This retreat is open to all students who are consistently involved at Reality LA Youth Sunday Youth Connects and/or Tuesday Nights.

Rebuilding for Renewal: Seven Questions

It is an exciting time at Reality LA as we prepare to renovate the Hope Center and church office building.

The aim is to carry out our mission more effectively and make good use of the buildings that have served us well but have significant limitations, are in poor condition, and are not up to code.

In 2024, we took time to answer seven key questions that many people in the congregation had about the building renovations.

Below we unpack the seven questions, addressing each through family talks at our Sunday gatherings, Drop In podcast episodes, and videos!

• What is the story of the Hope Center?
• What is the condition of the buildings?
• How do Reality LA and Serve LA relate?
• How does investing centrally enhance regional ministry?
• What does the staff do?
• How does a capital campaign work?
• How should we think about giving?

What is the story of the Hope Center?

When Reality LA was given the buildings at Fountain and Edgemont in 2019, their story became our story! Let’s look back and celebrate what God has done so we can be good stewards moving forward.

What is the condition of the buildings?

Our buildings are beautiful but they are old and broken down to the point that our current operations in them are not sustainable. Let’s check out how the condition of the buildings is holding us back from fulfilling our mission in really practical ways.

How do Reality LA and Serve LA relate?

Reality LA and Serve LA have an ongoing partnership that is rooted in our shared history and vision as we serve the city together. Let’s explore what it means for both organizations to mutually partner on a practical level.

How does investing centrally enhance regional ministry?

We gather for worship and we scatter for mission. Let’s explore how our city-wide church model has central and regional functions, which are not in competition of one another, but rather fit together in supporting our mission to make disciples in Los Angeles.

What does the staff do?

The purpose of church staff comes from Ephesians 4:12 “to equip the saints for the work of ministry.” We have organized our staff by our mission: making disciples who follow Jesus, love one another, and serve Los Angeles. So how does the staff equip the saints and what do they do?

How does a capital campaign work?

What is a capital campaign? What is our approach, and how will it work practically? For some of us, this may be our first time experiencing a capital campaign. For others, we may have expectations from a past experience. Let’s explore the specifics of how the campaign will work here at Reality LA!

How should we think about giving?

We often approach giving with a transactional mindset, giving in order to get. But what does it look like for us to have a transformational mindset, giving to be transformed and to participate in God’s work of transformation?

How can we renovate and utilize the buildings to best fulfill the mission God has given us?

We’ve addressed the seven key questions that arose from our congregation, but one question remains about the renovation: How can we reconfigure the space to maximize our mission of making disciples who follow Jesus, love one another, and serve Los Angeles?

Easter Baptisms 2026

We will hold baptisms at all three Easter gatherings!

Baptism is a picture of God’s grace and a profession of our faith. Being lowered into and raised from the water is a picture of Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection (Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3-8; Colossians 2:12; 1 Peter 3:21). It is a public testimony where we proclaim with our mouths and our hearts that Jesus is Lord.

If you’ve trusted in Christ but have never been baptized, then we invite you to join us for baptism as we celebrate together and worship Christ. Changing rooms, towels, and even a change of clothes, if needed, will be provided. You can learn more and register here:

Easter with Reality LA

Some people call Los Angeles “godless.” We disagree. We believe Jesus loves Los Angeles. He loves the dreamers and the doubters, the successful and the struggling, the housed and the unhoused. He sees the beauty of this city. He grieves its brokenness. And he has not given up on its redemption. Join us this Easter as we celebrate the risen Jesus and boldly declare: Jesus loves Los Angeles… and that includes you.

Service Times and locations

Our Easter gatherings will be 9AM and 12PM at Helen Bernstein High School and 5PM at the Hope Center. Click the links below for specific location and parking details:

We believe it’s important and beautiful to gather together in person as a family, but we of course realize that we live in a world where it’s not always possible. Joining us in spirit is no less precious to us—we will be live-streaming the 9AM gathering at sundaysonline.realityla.com so our entire family can celebrate Jesus’ resurrection together!

ASL

ASL interpretation will be available during preaching and worship at our 9AM gathering. Seating is in right side of the auditorium at the front.

Kids, Preteen, and Youth

We look forward to celebrating the resurrection with the children of our church! But there will be a few changes to our typical Sunday rhythms on Easter Sunday:

Kids Ministry will only be available for nursery through 1st grade at the 9AM and 12PM gatherings. Check in will be at the usual Kids Ministry Welcome Area and these younger kids will have a typical day of programming as any other Sunday. Kids Ministry will not be available at the 5PM gathering, but we will continue to have a Moms’ and Female Caregivers’ Room for anyone who needs it.

2nd through 4th-grade children will join their families in the main gathering. Easter is a wonderful time to integrate our older children into the rhythms of the church, as the sermon is shorter and designed to reach people from a wide variety of experiences and understandings. We will have sheets available for your older kids to grab before heading into the sermon on which they can take notes, draw, and complete a couple other fun activities like crosswords or word searches.

All Preteen and Youth students will join us in our Sunday gathering as well, and we’ll resume all customary Preteen and Youth gatherings the following week.

Please feel free to reach out to our Kids or Preteen and Youth teams with any questions ahead of time. We’re looking forward to seeing your family on Easter Sunday!

Serve on Easter

Easter is a great day to press into this year’s vision of everyone being on mission for Jesus!

We have an additional gathering, additional baptisms, and additional visitors—all these additions require additional support. If you have been curious and interested in joining the mission to follow Jesus, love one another and serve Los Angeles, this is your time to shine. Whether you are new to serving, can only serve this one time a year, or have been thinking about getting back to it, the need is so big on Easter that everyone is welcome and encouraged to jump in.

Join the Easter Serving Rally on March 22 at 12PM in the Helen Bernstein library to prepare and pray for all the Lord will do in and through our church on Easter Sunday.

Good Friday

This year’s Good Friday gatherings will take place in the Hope Center Chapel on April 3 at 6:30 and 8:30PM.

2024 Giving Statements

Donors who gave to Reality Church of Los Angeles in 2024 can now access their giving statements through Pushpay. All donors who have an email address on file should receive an email by January 31, 2025. If you do not receive an email, you can access giving statements online following the instructions below.

Thank you for your generosity

Thank you for giving to the Lord’s work in and through Reality LA in 2024!

Last year we focused on living all of life, all for Jesus. By God’s grace, we baptized 45 people, served 72,203 meals to the marginalized in Hollywood, saw 219 new people connected to community groups, and impacted countless people with the good news of Jesus.

All of this happened by way of your generous giving, which is a reflection of your commitment to Christ and the church. Thank you! God is truly at work, and it’s a privilege that we get to take part in it.

Here are a few FAQ regarding PushPay giving statements:

Can I access my giving statements online?

You can access all giving statements associated with your account by clicking the button below and logging in. A list of all statements will be available through the Giving Statements tab on the left-hand side of the screen.

Note: If you have not yet activated your account, please check one of your emailed donation receipts for how to do so.

What if I usually receive a statement in the mail?

Contribution statements delivered electronically from Pushpay are IRS compliant. For this reason, you do not need to receive both an emailed and mailed statement. This will benefit you as it is a much faster and easier way to deliver statements and will eliminate the need to print or scan anything.

My statement is not accurate

If you have received an inaccurate statement or have a question about a listed contribution, please email give@realityla.com.
