For much of Joseph’s life, it seemed like nothing was going well for him. He was hated by his brothers and sold into slavery and he was falsely accused of sin by his master’s wife and thrown into prison, where he was left and forgotten about for years. But God had a bigger plan for Joseph. All his suffering would lead him to become the second most powerful person in Egypt and God would use him to save the whole land from famine. Joseph points us forward to Jesus, whose death on the cross was used for our ultimate good to give us salvation and the forgiveness of our sins.
