Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.”
It’s incredibly easy to believe the lie that we don’t really matter. “If I feel lonely, it must be because people don’t care about me.” Or, “If I’m not as strong or smart or pretty as that other person, I must not be that important.”
But what if our value isn’t determined by what we do or don’t do? What if the way we look doesn’t make us more or less significant? What if how other people treat us doesn’t define how much we matter?
Jesus offers us freedom from all the lies we believe about our value by proclaiming loud and clear that you matter. You matter because God created you in his image. You matter because God created you as a walking reflection of who he is. You matter so much that Jesus suffered and died on the cross so you could be restored to him.
During RLA Youth Winter Camp 2020, we’re going to explore the vanity of our search for value in created things and how Jesus gives us true value that nobody and no thing can take away. Our prayer is that every student who joins us will walk away knowing their value and living in light of it. We’ll enjoy our time in Big Bear playing games and activities, hearing teachings and participating in discussions, praising God in worship, and building relationships with one another.
You can register your 6th through 12th grade kids at the link below, after which you will receive an email confirming your child’s spot at camp. We want our students to grow in being involved in God’s mission to save the lost, so we highly encourage you to have your kids invite their friends.
We are so excited to see God move in the hearts of every student in RLA Youth!
If you are a member of RLA without kids in middle or high school, you can still participate in Winter Camp!
- Pray. Ask God to radically change the lives of every kid in RLA Youth.
- Support kids financially. Many of the kids in our church need financial help. Whether it’s giving $10 or $1,000, everything helps.
