Fire-related Sunday Gatherings Update
Because LAUSD is closing all their schools, we will be unable to meet at Helen Bernstein High School this week. But it’s all the more important that we create corporate space to grieve, pray, and look to God together, so this Sunday we will hold four short gatherings at the Hope Center: 9AM, 11AM, 1PM, and 5PM.
Kids and Family
Childcare will be available at our 9AM and 11AM gatherings in the Youth Room (first floor of the church office; see map below) for kids age 6 months to 3 years. You can drop off your children at the church office.
For all four gatherings, youth and preteens will attend the gathering with their parents or engage online, the Nursing Moms room will be available in the back of the chapel, and the Hope Center Fountain Room will have the livestream for parents and children of all ages.
ASL
ASL interpretation will be available at our 9AM gathering.
Livestream
The 9AM gathering will be live-streamed (and available for replay throughout the day and week) at sundaysonline.realityla.com.
Parking
In addition to our parking lots behind the church office on Edgemont, we have overflow parking on Catalina.
Need Help?
Our congregation has been active in housing anyone who has been displaced and caring for people however they are experiencing this tragedy. If you are in need right now, please reach out to us by emailing missions@realityla.com and we will do everything we can to help you.
Want to Help?
Many of you have also asked how you can help right now. Here are a few ways:
• Pray — Let’s cry out to God, asking that we and our city will experience his comfort, protection, and mercy.
• Care — Let’s keep checking in on one another. Everyone is going through a lot, and we need each other now more than ever.
• Seek to Meet Needs — As we grieve and lament alongside our city there are current and ever-expanding opportunities to meet needs in a tangible way. Click below for information on how to open your home for others, where to support financially, how to donate or volunteer, and more.
Let’s remember, “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in Spirit” (Psalm 34:18). God is with us in difficult times and he will guide us as we seek to serve our city. May we never forget that there is always hope with Christ.
