Over our last 11 years as a church, there are many things we have not wavered on. One of these is our commitment to teach the Bible. We will never stop teaching the Bible. Outside of our Sunday gatherings, there are many opportunities to study the Bible in the church and in your community groups. I want to talk to you specifically about some opportunities in the next couple of months that we are very excited about.
One of the primary ways we seek to cultivate sound doctrine and godly living is through our Essentials class. Essentials is a 10-week class that teaches the essentials of the Christian faith. It’s not exhaustive, but it aims to provide a foundation for a lifetime of growing in Christ.
We will discuss the answers to such questions as:
- Who is God?
- What is the Gospel?
- How do I interpret Scripture?
- Why is the church important?
- How do I live as a Christian in this city?
Our time together includes teaching, group discussions, and Q&A, all in an environment where you’ll be getting to know other people in the church.
The Essentials class is one of the few things at RLA we ask everyone to commit to at least once, whether you’ve just heard the gospel or have been a believer for decades. We know 10 weeks is a big commitment, but it’s worth it for gaining a foundation for a lifetime of following Jesus.
