Shawn hails from the fine city of Richmond, Virginia. Like many, Shawn was raised in a cultural form of Christianity, holding to legalistic beliefs but not really knowing Jesus.
Always a fan of doing crazy things, Shawn would often climb buildings at his high school at night to look at the stars. During one of these (semi-legal) excursions, a grappling hook broke and Shawn fell. Hard. Knowing that he was trespassing and being a teenager, he got up and ran away, but upon going to the hospital found out that he had a non-paralyzing broken spine. Later that week, Shawn’s church had a service where he was prayed over - and healed. He has never had any back problems or taken pain killers for his back since. And yet, though he knew that God had healed him, he was still timid about fully committing to Christ.
It was after Shawn moved to LA to pursue acting that God showed him his moral failures and need for grace. Shawn repented and began to revel in his walk with Christ. Shawn now works as a personal trainer, serves at RLA, loves his wife, and enjoys seeing God’s hand in the created world around him.
