As we go through the book of 1 John together, we’re also taking time to explore its themes of relationship and community in a variety of specific contexts through discussions designed to equip us for and prompt further conversations. We’ve looked at race, identity, and sexuality, and in April we’re having a discussion on authentic community.

What does it mean to be true community? Not just individuals in close proximity, or with shared interests, but to be one as God is one? How do we share life in a healthy, holistic, sustainable way? What is God’s design for emotions in relationship? How, practically, does our diversity grow our unity? These are just some of the questions we’ll seek answers to.

Genuine, deep community is challenging and sometimes painful, but God repeatedly tells us it’s worth it. His-death-on-the-cross worth it.
